Chief executive of Grant Thornton, Greg Keith, said the large group reflected the strength of the company.

“Encouraging our people to grow and reach their full potential has always been one of our top priorities, and this year we are proud to have a sizeable group of promotions to partner and principal,” said Mr Keith.

“We have always had a clear message internally, that we care about, support and nurture our people.

“Every one of these promotions is well deserved as each new partner and principal has achieved outstanding results for our clients and as leaders within our teams, even in the face of the obstacles thrown at us by the pandemic.”

The promoted principal is Liz May, who specialises in financial advisory.

The additional partners are:

-          George Bendall – specialist tax (remuneration taxes)

-          Owen Carew – audit and assurance (national assurance quality)

-          Tyson Dujela – management consulting (retail)

-          Daniel Farthing – risk consulting

-          Nicole Gonzalez – audit and assurance

-          Aliece Graham – tax

-          Rebecca Iwanuscha – specialist tax (innovation taxes)

-          Tari Makanda – audit and assurance

-          Lili Song – private advisory

-          Jane Stanton – risk consulting

-          Jay Vasiliou – audit and assurance

-          Tom Williams – financial advisory

One of the promoted partners, Mr Farthing, said he was looking forward to continued growth with the company.

“When I started with Grant Thornton a few years ago, we only had a handful of people with exposure to our cyber security and technology compliance service offerings,” said Mr Farthing.

“Fast forward three years during which we have grown rapidly and that number is two dozen.

“Having the opportunity to expand on these services is really exciting for me and I look forward to further mentoring the team as we continue to grow.”

Another promoted partner, Ms Makanda, said the development and training at Grant Thornton assisted when it came to promotion and showed through in client  satisfaction.

“We add value to our clients through our extensive industry expertise together with providing ongoing learning opportunities for our teams,” said Ms Makanda.

“At Grant Thornton we have support systems in place to coach and inspire our people to be their best selves and to produce high quality outcomes for our clients.”

Ms Iwanuscha was promoted to partner in specialist tax and said that the supportive and collaborative environment at the company enabled people to develop.

“At Grant Thornton the team supports, collaborates, and encourages each other and this flows on to our clients too,” said Ms Iwanuscha.

“We foster authenticity and support our people to be themselves at work and in interactions with our clients, which means we can bring unique perspectives to everything we do.”

These appointments bring the total number of partners in the firm to 165.
